it is this 8 pole roof frame that is used to support the roof tarpaulin of all the RSK shelter kits
The complete RSK roof frame is simple, very strong and highly efficient. It has a proven history in construction.
Unlike traditional bamboo lattice roof shelters the RSK roof frame can be built on the ground rather than overhead in situ.

To fit the standard 6m x 4m IFRC standard relief tarpaulins every RSK roof frame is made with four 2.5m central reciprocally overlapped poles and four outer 3.0m side poles. The resultant roof frame is 2.8m square.

FOOTNOTE:
After a few minutes instruction from our response team on how to lash this frame together, the families displaced by the Jajarkot earthquake in Nepal were able to build their own RSK shelters. The high standard of the shelters they built ensured that all 40 families (194 persons) had secure protection from the weather over the winter months.
